DIGs Senior Parliament Adviser has continued to work in Nepal in support of the Legislature-Parliament and the transition to a federal parliamentary system. This included, in July 2017, the introduction of a Discussion Paper on global lessons learned on devolution and the establishment of provincial assemblies. Examples were taken from Kenya, Kosovo, Fiji, Tunisia and South Africa – all countries that have (re)established parliaments in the recent past, some of which included sub-national parliaments, In July 2017 Deveaux also conducted consultations with senior MPs of the Parliament, Secretariat staff and Government officials to gather insight into a Provincial Assembly Transition Plan.
