Deveaux International Governance Consultants Inc. sent two trainers to the Solomon Islands in 2016 and early 2017 to conduct trainings of political parties in the country. Despite the adoption of the Political Parties Integrity Act in 2014 and the establishment of the Political Parties Commission (PPC), Solomon islands still faces many challenges with regard to the institutionalization of parties and the stabilization of the political system. DIG worked with the PPC and UNDP to provide foundational training to all registered political parties in the country to allow them to understand best practices with regard to the operation of a party. This included on-site training seminars, train-the-trainer training and bilateral consultations.
